Looks are ok, but where you going to hide when it rains? Open elements died out long ago because they are not rain friendly, but you will figure that out first good rainstorm you run into.

What's funny about that? Cuz he didn't spend $30-40 bucks for simular one...I have an '06 FXDI and I live in good ole Sunny Florida, that's also Thunderstorm capital of the US... I've been caught in more than a few storms and even ran 100+ miles in a good pouring rain I have an open filter with no problems at all.. I've been at a bike show and me and a bunch of guys had our bikes sitting in a BAD thunderstorm with open filters...... First open filter was on my old carbed '68 Electra Glide... she was tempermental and still ran fine... If the one he made turned out ok more power to him..... Later Skee
