very hot hard starts
I got the compensator replaced with the se one on my 09 egc. I have notice that it will have a hard time starting when hot. It sounds like the battery does not have enough power. This only happen when the engine is hot and a quick stop for gas. It sometime even resets the fuel remain read out to low and the radio. When cold I have not problem, it turns great. when hot it wont, push the start botton second time and it fires up. What gives? Battery is 1.5 years old and I am driving in 106* weather. Has anyone found a solution to this?

You need to load check the battery, sounds like a bad cell. The battery will show correct volts but doesn't have the cranking amps. I know the battery should last longer but sometimes they don't. Especially if you are not using a trickle charger/maintainer between rides.

Mine does the same thing without the new compensator except every once in a while it makes an obnoxious sledgehammer to the primary sound followed by ring gear grinding. They seem to not like restarting after only being off for a short period.

My dealer just replaced the starter clutch to fix that very same problem.
