I'm using a Mustang right now and its really helped my lower back. HD also makes an adjustable backrest and I'd probably buy one the next time I get a new bike/new seat. I think whichever brand you chose you'll be happy with the support.

I use the adjustable HD with the sundowner seat. Never leave without it.

Default another possibility

I have tried the Harley adjustable backrest on my 08 Road King but because it can't be raised high enough, it only offers minimal support and then only to my lower back. When I leaned back against it it would almost collapse. What I did instead was purchase a T-Bag which I attached to my passenger backrest and faced it forward resting on the passenger seat. I then put an inflatable beach ball in the T-Bag large pocket and by varying the pressure I can change how much back support I need. The top of the bag also hits me about shoulder blade height so I can support my entire back. The additional pockets on the bag also increase my storage for touring. Works for me!

Non-adjustable backrest (Street glide stitching) with the stock seat for me. I was waffling between the adjustable and non-adjustable, but didn't want to drop the coin for the adjustable. Figured if the non-adjustable didn't work out I could sell it and get an adjustable. After some tweaking and trial/error with position, I really like my non-adjustable. Mine stays on always. BTW, I'm 6'3"/220.
