About the only thing that really takes allergies away for me is benadryl. But have to be careful cuz they do make you sleepy. I do take zyrtec each night and does help some. Claritin never really worked. Allegra worked ok too. I have bad allergies.

As much as I like the look/feel of taking the King's shield off for a ride I never do anymore unless I want to suffer for a few days! Dust, desert plants and the mountain pines pushed by our winds are a bad combo.

Forgot about local honey idea and going to try it. I am anti-med as much as possible, will only take something if totally miserable.

I have HORRIBLE seasonal allergies. I use Alegra, Sudafed and Flonase in the morning and have Patanol (eye drops) through-out the day if it gets really bad.

The biggest problem I have is in May, there is something that comes out here in central NC that really gets my eyes. They itch and swell and it's just awful. Several years ago, my opthamologist prescribed antihistamine eye drops. They were nothing short of a miracle. Fortunately, about 2 years ago, those drops became over-the-counter. They are called Zaditor. If you have problems with your eyes, try them.

I get the prescription strength Allegra as my insurance covers it other than a $5 copay. Doesnt make me sleepy, works well... in case of some mucous build-up, I'll perform a double barrelled hands free dual snot rockets at a traffic light. If I have to sneeze on the road, I tell my wife to lean to one side or the other

I dont ride, usually clogs ears up as well as the itchy eye etc, I have ear issues in base case so any clogging usually makes balance off a bit so I just dont ride for a few weeks.

Ear issues. Glad I'm not alone. I pour peroxide in my ears when I shower. My wife wants me to go to the doctor tomorrow because my chest hasn't cleared up in a week. This isn't my week. I can only go 20 minutes without having to blow my nose. The weather has been great and my Road King wants to get out of the garage!
