I was wondering how many of you guys run with the EITMS enabled in the summertime? On a ride this past Saturday we got caught in traffic and man the bike got hot....one of the guys bike with us got so hot he lost all oil pressure. I have a 103 with a cat and was cookin'. I never thought about my bike having the EITMS then remembering was thinking maybe I should activate it.
I try to avoid traffic but you never know....guys using it whats your experience?
i enable it when needed. It does help with some of the heat. I have also replaced my headers and have an ECM that adds more fuel. I am going to add the mid frame heat deflectors.
I think it's crap and keep mine disabled at all times. It sounds like a dying rhino when it kicks in, and the exhaust fumes coming off that dead rear cylinder (to quote Fat Bastard from Austin Powers) will choke a donkey.
Sometimes I inadvertantly turn it off and wonder when its going to kick in.
It does help, or at least I like to think its trying to help. The mid frame deflectors helped a bit as well but lets face it its always going to be hot.
