I talked to the sales manager at my dealership the day he was ordering 2012's and he said the 103 was standard. Did't say anything about the power pak, etc.
I hope that was a light hearted attempt at humor. I'm busting my *** out here. And when I'm not working - I have no where to go & nothing to do. I live and work in a 1 square mile zone that I cannot leave because of threats & attacks. I'm driven to & from work - just 2 blocks from where I sleep - in armored vehicles. Not permitted to walk even that short a distance - nor would I even want to. Yeah, I volunteered to be here - and the pay is good - but it's not "why" I'm here. I and the team I work with earn every penny of OUR tax dollars that are spent out here. If you saw what an average day is like, you'd realize every single person is grossly underpaid.
Sorry for being defensive - but after hearing the names of the 170+ service members & civilians from my unit who have been killed out here read off during our Memorial Day ceremony, that remark hit a nerve. I apologize if you were just trying to be funny.
Rest assured that the majority of us back at the states believe that you being there is one of the few things our tax money SHOULD be paying for... As opposed to throwing our tax money down the bottomless pit of social programs, welfare, etc... And there are many if us here that appreciate what people like you do.
But on topic: I'm not sure what bike you will come home to, but whatever it is I hope you ride it till it's rusts out beneath you: well into your old age, among friends, family, and fellow countrymen who appreciate your sacrifice.
I'm so looking forward to my next deployment in November. You can be sure that I will think of you fondly as I walk the aisles of the PX tent aimlessly, or take my third runny crap of the day, or flip through the same worn out skin magazine for the umpteenth time, or spend two hours in the gym because I am so bored out of my f*cking mind that I don't know what to do with myself. I will think of YOUR tax money and how I can't wait to spend it on motorcycle parts when I get home again.
Well I hope you are right....but I think the price increase might be due to...
There is a political section where you can post garbage like that, You will also find reminders of how former president Bush destroyed this economy that is why he left office with a 26% approval rating.
But n-e-way I do think the 103ci inch will be standard on the touring models I would like to see Harley add a cam selection that you can order from the factory lets say if you wanted a 103 with a 254e cam it would come that way from the line.
I am thinking the 103 may be standard in 2013. There is too much money to be made in the power pak still for HD. The Touring models also just got a major upgrade a few years back. Dyna's are due for some work in my opinion.

No apologizes need my friend. Thank you for being on the line for your country everyday. Like the war or not, our men and women are defending this nation from those who wish to harm us. It was a crummy comment about the tax dollars but maybe he was just joking.

Calm down their slick. You are the one that said you were a civilian contractor out there with way too much time on your hands. My comment was in no way directed at our military. I just assumed since you said you had time to day dream and way too much time on your hands that maybe, just maybe, our tax dollars could be spent more wisely. You have a choice to be there, not the military, and I seriously doubt the military has time to day dream and way too much time on their hands. I'm fully aware of the commitment our military has given, I have seen them come home in coffins with their escort at the airports and escorted them day and night to their final resting place. So don't question by loyalty, but also don't tell me you have time to day dream and way too much time on your hands and expect me to think otherwise. If I offended you then I apoligize, but try and understand why I said what I did given what your original post said.
