Default Power pack or no

Hi , I'm considering trading my bike in for a new road glide custom. I've done some searches on this but I'm still up in the air about the power pack option. I'd like ABS but I really don't need the other options. My local dealer has both but one 96" one doesn't have the ABS . Is it worth he extra 2 g's for the power pack? Thanks

I would get all I could get at time of purchase. Bigger is better, at least that's what my wife keeps telling me!

I would consider it. Just my opinon but there is a substantial difference between the 96 and the 103. I am seeing a lot of threads claiming that HD will be using the 103 as it's standard engine in the 2012 models...but who really knows until they are unveiled.

ABS is a good thing in my opinion...and well worth it. To do the security, ABS, and 103 on a 96 costs a lot more than the upgrade charge if you did them standalone.

I just got an 11 Street Glide, and I opted to go with the 96 w/ cruise, and then added the security myself.

I'm happy with my decision. Will probably hurt the resale value down the road, but the bike is plenty fast for me as-is, and I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off.

I added slip-ons (rush) and will probably do a filter and fuel upgrade down the road, but the the money savings up front was worth it to me.

I'd get it. It's not a bad deal and you have a good base should you want to pump the motor up a bit.

had this same dilema with my RK.. decided that ABS was important enough to me, and that the 103 and security was just a bonus..

the butt dyno tells me the 103 has a bit more torque, but its not leaps and bounds above the 96.

Different people have different priorities, so ask 2 people and you will get 2 different answers..

Talk your best deal for both and then go for the 96.
Put in a stage 1 and you'll walk away from a stock 103 and still be $ ahead.

Down the road, if you decide that you want more power, then go w/Fuel Moto's 107 kit which is a better option anyway than the 103.

Really depends on what you want out of the bike. Some guys hate ABS and/or know they can build a 103" or 107" or whatever with alot better HP/TQ than the moco will build their 103 - so they would rather buy the basic bike and then build it into exactly what they want.

Me - I bought my 11SG with the full powerpac plus cruise and I'm leaving it stock with it's extended warranty. It has more HP/TQ than my old 80" evo has and I was not going to buy a bike that did not have ABS. All my extra money is now spent on road trips.

Just have to fiqure out what you want, best of luck !

I think it's well worth the money. If you don't get it you will always wished you had.
