I am having the dealer put on V & H dresser duals on mu 08 ultra. I already have reinhart slp ons and stage 1. I assume it was retunes because it has a SERT (32109-08B) in the tourpak when i got it last fall. It has stock header pipes now. How do you know if a new tune is needed? dealer said they would put one on that is pretty close to this combo of pipe slip on set without dyno for free. they want 249 to dyno it. Or 80 bucks to put tune on if I install the pipes. But since they already have the pipes i will let them do it. thanks jeff
It'll run funny if it needs a re-tune. Something different than what it's doing now. If not, ride it as is.
Similarly, I installed gear drive 26g cams last January, removing my HD 203s in the process. My Stage II 95" didn't need a re-tune as I would have expected. Bike runs strong, plugs burn perfectly, milage is excellent.
You don't automatically have to re-tune everytime you do something.
Since you are having them install the pipes let them put the map in then go ride. You will know pretty quick whether the map is close enough or off the mark.
