Question PCV tinkering

i am not a mechanic by any means,i have a pcv with autotune from fuel moto.they have been awsome in getting me set up.however i would like to know what to check on my own.i notice some surging again while cruising and the warm up is not as smooth as when i started.just dont want to bother jamie and kieth again if i could learn to operate the power commander myself.i notice some people posting of accepting trims occasionally.i was under the impression they would do it automaticlly.thanks in advance and go easy my feelings hurt easily!

The AT builds trims in tables that are applied to your base map. You dont have to accept trims, they will be added or subtracted to your base map. If you are seeing values in your trim tables the AT is working. The only issue remaining is to make sure you have AT 1 on cyl 1 and AT2 on cyl 2. I am not sure if the newer AT units have 2 separate modules or only 1.

Hi Jrike,

Surging on cruise is unacceptable to anyone. Get it in for a tune and they can find the issue. Not likely the PCV.

Pick the tuner carefully. Some are not super. Some are.

You didn't mention what other mode you have with the PCV and Autotune. I'd make sure there are no exhaust or intake leaks as these can mess with your O2 sensors. I've had the Autotune on my bike for about a week and a half and just love the way the bike runs. I cant keep my hand out of the throttle :-) There is a wealth of info on this forum about the Autotune, members like iclick and 09streetglide did some real nice write ups on how to tune for mileage and performance. If you find no problems with intake or exhaust leaks give FuelMoto another call, their support is great and I'm sure they will get you fixed up in no time.
