I will not but a HD with out ABS. What a difference. But anyone riding still needs to know how to 'RIDE" ABS is just another thing that helps.

Traded my 08 Ultra Classic for a 2011 Ulra Classic for nothing other than ABS...Period! No regrets.

If you have ever hit the brakes and got surprised by your tire locking up, if you ever need ABS you will get that same type of surprise when the tire doesn't lock up. With ABS you can still steer and you ARE in control. Should not be optional

I agree completely with what Guitar4Him said. I think I'm a fairly experienced rider, but in a recent emergency stop I locked up the back brake because of panic and how the weight shifted to the front of the bike. I was thinking of a hundred other things (like not crashing) and couldn't focus on lifting some pressure off the rear brake pedal. Fortunately I didn't crash, but felt pretty helpless to stop the bike with the back tire sliding down the road like it wasn't even THINKING of slowing us down in time.

I think ABS would have been a Godsend that day, because if only one variable had changed, I could have been seriously injured. I'll never have another bike without ABS - I think it's that important.

No reason at all not to get it. Should be standard on all bikes.

Happened to hit the brakes a little to forcefully with the Limited and it has a little vibrating spongy feel, like the first time I drove a vehicle with ABS. It sure saved me from a few accidents with the ABS on my car and truck. I am sure it will be valuable in the future with bikes. Same as with the vehicles I'm sure after I while I'll not even notice it on the bike. As the DVD says 2 wheeled vehicle with ABS, have to be operated differently than 4 wheeled vehicles with it.

Ditto to all the above comments and observations. ABS should be standard on all motorcycles. I have them on my 09 UC. Used them a couple of times by locking up the rear tire while not really meaning to. Maybe over stated but they are life savers in my opinion.

No reason not to. One of the reasons I'm currently shopping for a new bike.
