They do sound even better after a while. One of my friends said the look reminded him of the Starship Enterprise.

If I keep my bike I would like to put the V&H header. How are you gus liking the headers?

Last year I bought Rinehart True Duals. In the summer we made a 4700 mile round trip to California from Kentucky. By the time I got home after several days of 80mph interstate travel, I was ready for a change. I loved the Rineharts around home for putting around everyday, but for travel, they were just too loud for 3000 rpm on the interstate. I normally lead, and riders behind me complained as well.
After buying the Monster Ovals with the Dresser Duals, the wife is now happy and I love the sound. I have a big bore kit, 26G gear drive and performance heads. This setup is probably louder than stock headers, but it is still very livable for everyday use and I can now listen to the radio on the interstate. I am pretty sure I will buy a new Ultra next summer, I plan to keep my Monster Ovals to put on the new scoot.

How loud are they compared to stock? I'm thinking about changing out my SuperTrapp slip-ons for a pair of the Monster Ovals because I love the look of them. I however don't want something that will wake the dead or be bothersome on long trips.

Love my Monster Ovals! They're just the right balance with a deep, low growl.

Got them paired with my V&H power dual header on my CVO Road Glide. Been running V&H's for years on my softail. Always sound great.

They are louder and deeper than stock. But, they are not loud, but a deep rumble. They have a little bark when you crack the throttle. No problem hearing tunes on the highway (wind noise is another story).
I often head out early this time of year and neighbors said they don't bother them. I don't rev the motor or sit in the driveway too long, nor do I get on it down my street.
