I also just had both front warped rotors on my '08 Ultra Classic replaced under the extended warranty and front wheel bearings at same time, 35K miles on bike, my cost $50. Dealer told me this was quite a common problem with the rotors. Best find yourself a new dealer, good luck and don't let them hand you to much BS

So are the floating rotors less likely to warp? I thought they performed better because they cooled quicker? I plan to go to Lyndall gold + pads when I change my pads mostly to reduce brake dust so the wide whites will be easier to clean. Are the pads going to create more problems and heat?
I wont say that floaters "cant" warp because anything is possible but it is unlikely. I replaced my stock, warped rotors with Harley floaters and problem solved.
You'll get differences of opinions on the Lyndall pads but I've tried them and didn't care for them, especially in the rain. Went back to stock pads and happier even though my wheels get a little dirtier faster.
You dont HAVE to use a mag base to hold the indicator you can attach it to anything solid if you know what youre doing with these types of tools...........and rotors should be a warranty item.I had a rotor get warped from a sloppy rear wheel change if the caliper is not properly installed itll hose both the rotor and caliper(burn them up), be careful about who you let change youre tires ..............anything made of steel can be be made true again if you got a flat steel plate or table and I do mean flat, and a torch and you know what youre doin with the torch ,you can clamp it down and SLOWLYand EVENLY heat it up and then let it cool off I have done this many times in a machine shop

My '08 developed a slight pulsing around 10K, and by 15K it had become annoying, especially in slow speed stops in traffic. If the pad grabbed at the wrong time, I would have to put my foot down quickly. Made me look clumsy at times. My indy and I took a look with a micrometer and found that both rotors had inconsistent thickness almost 180 degrees apart. Since new was the only choice, I decided to put floating rotors on, and the difference is amazing.
A warped rotor can be straightend. Use dial indicator to find the high spot and tap the high spot on rotor (very gently) with rubber or leather mallet. Re-check with dial indicator. It will take numerous checks and taps with the mallet, but you will be able to straighten the rotor and should be able to eliminate the pulsating.
I had the stock ones and floating rotors warp, tossed them and put ceramic rotors on. Best thing I ever did they dont hold in heat and are lifetime warranty. Expensive but pays for itself after 2 rotor replacements.
it is a common problem from what i hear.my mechanic told me to clean calibers with brake clean every wash to keep from build up and sticking.of course you need to remove the first time to really give them a good scrubbing.so far so good on my 08.

. I have the hd floaters and they are warped just as bad as the stock ones. The bike has 30000 miles and I do drive like a ***.
