I have the dreaded question on lowering. I got a 2010 SG and need to get flat footed when stopped. I have looked at the seats thru HD and lowering front and rear suspinsions. I am interested in what you senior riders have to say worked for you. Is the sundowner seat still as comfortable as my factory seat and has anyone gone with Bithchin Baggers for lowering the rear? I am looking for 2 inches between the seat and lowering combination. Thanks for any helpful tips and experiences on the matter.

i cant help with the suspension questions but i CAN comment on your seat question. For starters your stock 2010 seat sucks... i know i had one (i ride a 2010 SG) the stock 2011 seat is WAY better...and very resonnable... look for a discount dealer and it should be about $150 i got mine from a dealer that was having a 20% sale and it was like $142.. the seat is WAY more comfortable and supportive then the 2010...they also slimmed down the nose which gives your legs a more direct line to the pavement making your FEEL lower.
I also have the SUndowner..for when the wife comes with me..very comfortable also..and it also has a better shape to the nose helping your flat foot issues

i used a danny grey speed cradle, and the bitchin baggers 11 inch shocks. while i'm not totally flat footed, its close enough for me. i just don't pull in nose first into a downhill parking space.

This system will get you a 3 inch drop while keeping the stock suspension. It can only be installed at HD dealers that are set up and trained to do the job. Not many are set up to do this yet, but I know that Kutter HD in Janesville, WI is.

A friend at work with short legs went with this system on his 2010 SG and LOVE's it.

I'm 6' but because of the width of my stock 2010 SG seat, my feet will not quite flat foot on the pavement. If the 2011 stock SG seat is narrower, I want one.

If anyone has one for sale, PM me. I want to stick to an OEM seat so it will match my backrest pad.

I had a Sundowner seat that came with my bike and sold it. It was wider than the stock seat, so I had even more problems standing flat footed but the passenger pad was bigger and more comfortable for the passenger.

I got my stock FLHRC seat back from ....MeanCity Cycle ....about ten days ago .
It is at least two inchs lower and the nose is a cpl inchs narrower .The seat looks good and is comfortable , still breaking it in .

It was cheap ...eeerrr thrifty . $100 plus shipping with the memory foam .
This got my feet flat on the ground without messing with the front/rear geometry .
