I installed the 508's. Big difference from the stock bars. I also would suggest extending the wires, cables and the brake line. The wires/cables/line were too tight for me. Went with the chrome braided cables and it looks great.

I had road king high bars on mine felt like my wrists were turned in too far, put heritage bars on very comfortable with no modifications
only had to tweek the brk line.
If they were only 2" higher they would be perfect.

Went with Heritage bars after checking out the high RK bars. High bars turned in too much for me too. Would recomend going this route as it's only a $50.00 modification, unless you buy grips. No cable or wiring changes. Simple DIY job. If you go with higher bars you will have to change cables, etc. I Really like the Heritage bars and won't be getting apes like I had planned. (sig pic is with stock bars).

"Simple DIY job"??? Well, it should have been. However the dealer did not have a service manual for my '07, so what should have been a 30 minute job turned into two and a half hours. I'm sure there is a HD engineer somewhere laughing his A$$ off that a DIY'er spent all that time trying to figure out how to remove the little accent piece on top of the headlight nacelle. I finally figured it out, but why on earth would someone design a bike that requires the removal of the headlight in order to replace the handlebars? I can't answer that but if I ever get my hands on the little son of a gun ....

Oh well, the job is done and the bars fit GREAT. New cushioned handgrips also. I'd take her out now but it's thirty-five frikin degrees outside. I think I'll just wait on the sun to come out tomorrow.

The Roadking bars are the one set that seem to fit nobody. Take measurements of rise, width and pullback on the stock bars then get in a comfortable seeting position (for you) and have a friend take the same measurements for you. Now you are ready to shope for the bars that are right for you, not for someone else.

On my 05 RKC, I put the stock RK Custom bars on it and I really like them. I had to replace the brake line, but the other cables were fine. I had to loosen the cable bracket behind the headlight with no ill effects.

The 508's did the job for me. Very comfortable!

Try the Heritage bars. They make a big difference. Much more comfortable

I'm planning on buying some of the reduced reach bars for my standard road king. I'm sure that changing them out will be an adventure.
