I find the stock handlebars on my RKC very uncomfortable. Anyone else with that problem? If so, have you switched them to a different bar and did you have to replace the brake/clutch cables?
I went with the RK pullback handle bars also and love them. Very comfortable and the wires are inside the bars, very clean look. You do have to buy wiring harness extension for about $30.00 with the bars around $80.00 total.
Don't like the stock bars on my Ultra Road King. Planning several things at once again to change them out. Thinking of the Beach Bully set. Just wanting more pull back, maybe some more height, but don't want more narrow! Don't even ask about ape hangers, don't think they would work for me at all, not on this ride!
Search around. This is a very popular topic. In addition to the HD bars, some guys have switched to the stock bars on a Heritage, some to Wild1 by Chubby (either W0508 or W0518), or a host of other options.
I went with the Wild1 W0508. I love them, but they required re-cabling. Pic attached for your reference.
I helped a friend put Stock heritage bars on his RK, they look great and he really likes them. And you do not have to change the cables with the heritage bars.
I'm looking to install the HD Reduced Reach Road King Handlebar(P/N 56152-04) this winter.
They seem to fit me well and should be more comfortable than the stock bars. Don't know
if you can run the cables inside them though.
