Lesson in creative Writing
My Wife's '07 Street Glide would caulf and sputter on roll on from a stop sign... then it would completely die as she was rolling into the under gound garage that she parks in daily. It would also die on the ramp up on the way out... So to make a long story short, I had it towed in to my dealer... Computer had a code stored for a bad OX rear sensor... That turned out to be the connection... Connector replaced, all is well. The dieing problem turned out to be identified in an August '09 service bulletin. As a result of that bulletin, there is a new download that resets the throttle position sensing switch and a few other things...
Now this is the real fun part of this post... The HD extended warranty does not cover this, unless the Service Writer is very creative in his/her writing skills.
Guys/Gals, Be aware that the HD extended warranty does not cover many things that you would expect that they would cover. This is a deffinate saftey isuue regardless of what HD says. When a bike just dies in traffic, or where ever, that is a safety issue and HD Extended MUST cover it whether they like it or not. Do NOT take NO fo an answer... But do it in a very nice way... I would strongly recommend that all make close friendship with your local dealer GM. He/She and make things happen... and as a side note, If you are close with a dealership GM. they can cover such BS charges...
