When you decelerate your primary chain is slack on the top run. Your engine is acting like a "jake brake" ...... When you "blip" the throttle during deceleration, you are snapping your primary chain tight suddenly.

I can see this being an IDS rubber pad issue, but I can also see this as a primary chain tensioner problem too. I'd try the IDS rubber pads first although it seems hard to believe the pads would be in bad shape so soon. Stranger things happen.

Yes, it sounds like a slack chain or broken adjuster, the tech at the Dealer said he pulled off the derby cover, says the adjuster is operating correctly and the chain is the right tension, I only have 25,000 miles, find it hand to believe the cush drive is worn out. I think Shooter is right, "primary grenade". I dont think I will be riding until parts come in.
