Default DTC code ECMP2138=Correlation error(twist grip sensor)

Hello forum,I keep getting this code,on my 2010 Ultra.I called my bike shop, and was told to take down right hand side control, and insp for loose wire's or missing, and to just see if anything was out of place.Tell me: when you twist your throttle grip all the way off, isn't it supposed to cut out 1 cyl? When I do this nothing happens just the cruise light start's to flash.Have any of ya'll had experience with this>.

When you twist the grip all the way off and hold it for a couple of seconds, the cruise light will turn green. That turns the EITMS (Engine Idle Throttle Management System) on. The EITMS cuts you down to one cylinder when the engine reaches a certain temperature, and only when you are stopped. Twist and hold the grip again and the cruise light turns amber. This turns that feature off.

No,I haven't,but this bike was bought with a salvage title, and it does have taller handlebars,so there, may be something messed up inside the grip,or the control.I'm going to take the control apart, and see. Also my cruise stop's working on it's on,so all these things may well be related.I will soon see.

Check for corrosion, broken pins, dirty, etc on the connection at the induction module as dictated in tech tip TT418A

Thanks, for reply's to all,so I took control apart, and all looked well inside. No wire's crimped,or bent in a way that would be destructive, to the wire itself.I did check to see if I could get EITMS to work on the bike, and I could get the cruise light to go green, but as soon as I let the throttle go, it would go back amber. So really I'm back to square one on this one>.

Send a PM to BigDaddyMike (not sure about the capitalization) who recently encountered a similar problem/code and fixed it cleaning connectors.
