I don't think I have tried AM on my radio yet. I will have to give it a go and see how my reception is. Come football season, if there is one this year, I will probably want to listen to a game or two while on the bike.

I listen to the Giants games all the time. KNBR 680. Clear as a bell.

...yup..that's AM...here on the south shore of Mass. AM sucks for reception..it amazes me that in 2011 they still can't figure out how to make it better...bike,car,home, it don't matter...always crappy..

A sign of the times. One of our biggest headaches are the AM listeners, they try and blame bad reception on anything and everything.Working for an electric utility we deal with it a lot.Today there are a lot of things that affect AM reception, major one is users antennea. The rest is complicated.

Between the interference from bike's ignition and electronics both on and off the bike not to mention sunspot activity and time of day reception it's a wonder anything can be heard..

At night the lower end of the dial works the best. At day the higher.

Many AM stations have "sister" stations on FM for sports broadcasting.

Do you have the hidden antenna in the fairing? When I bought mine from HD, they told me I would loose am reception. They are correct. I get nothing but static on AM. FM is good to go though.
