Default 2005 Ultra Classic... Is this worth it?

Being timid when buying used, I would like to get you all's opinion on this.

2005 Ultra Classic. 28K miles. You can see from the pics it is pretty well taken care of. Engine has been upgraded to the 95. It has a 6speed tranny instead of the 5. Don't like the air filter or the horn on it but that is an easy fix.

guy wants 16,500 for it. KBB said 14K for that particular model but like I said the engine and tranny have been upgraded. Engine has like 5K miles on it since the upgrade.

You guys think it is worth the 16,500 for it?

Thanks for your assistance

Sounds a little steep.
One of the local dealers up here has newer bikes, 96" engine, with same mileage for about $300 more. And thats a MoCo Dealer.

I would offer 11500 and pay up to 12500 (maybe 13,000) to ride away. But thats me.

Ultimately its worth what you think its worth. IF the bike really speaks to you then pay what you can afford and want to pay.

Its a buyers market at the moment, if you have cash then you make the rules....

. I have an 05 Classic also...I am a "realist" when it comes to pricing my bike, partly because I am a Licensed Appraiser here in Mass, so I will tell you that in my opinion, my 05, 17k miles, with stage one, V&H pipes, lots of chrome, 2 seats, detachable everything, extra sissy bar, bla bla bla, would probably sell around $11K on the used market...your guy is high on his pricing...that's a fair deal at around 13,500...

use the n.a.d.a. book price...it is more realistic. kbb is more of an insurance price thing.

As a comparison, I bought an '08 Ultra last year (It was a year newer then) with low mileage for $16k. I passed on an '05 for $10k because it had a vibration that didn't seem right to me. both were beautiful bikes and looked brand new. I would keep looking.

Sounds a lot steep to me. I wouldn't let my wants overpower my wallet. Even though this is the sellers season right now, there aren't that many qualified buyers out there IMO. Counting c notes tends to pursuade and motivate a seller considerably. Not saying you have to beat the seller to death, but, if you can't dictate fair terms from your perspective, go elsewhere.
