Next weekend I plan to install some 255 cams in my 2011 Limited & am hoping for some help on a few questions. Currently running the PC-V, SE A\C, & V&H Hi-Output Slip-Ons. I had the bike dyno-tuned at that time. Dyno shows 76hp & 90 tq.
When I install the cams I'm also going to gut the CAT to let it breath better. I know I'll need to load a different map for the cam change & the exhaust or realistically have the bike re-tuned on a dyno or add a PC auto tune. I would like to wait a little bit as I haven't been working due to my shoulder surgery so right now funds are a little tight since I'm living on L&I.
I've emailed Jamie about prices for the auto tune & a map which won't be a problem but I need something prior to that purchase. Any suggestions? I guess if all else fails, I can just wait on the cam install & CAT delete until I have the funds available to get r done!
run a canned map off Dynojet website or talk to Jamie at FM and maybe he can send you a map to run. You shouldnt have a problem finding a map thats close enough. Many people run with canned maps and dont have a problem.
If I were in your situation I would do the cam/exhaust mod and add AT at the same time, starting with a PCV map from FM. Buy the pipe and AT from them and they'll get you started with a close map for the setup before it starts auto-tuning. I wouldn't bother with a dyno-tune, as AT will tune AFR's for you on the fly. Every map I've seen for a Stage II (103/255) has ignition advance unchanged from stock, so I don't think that's an issue.
You should be able to get a fairly generic map for that set up from Dynojet...It will work until you can get it tweeked. I just took a quick look and found several that sound right up your alley.
818-067 *Advanced Map*, Vance & Hines Big Shot duals (#17925), Screamin Eagle 103" flat top pistons, Screamin Eagle 255 cams, Screamin Eagle air filter, Stock ECM , Rev Xtend enabled, Table 1 is front cylinder

The OP's bike is an '11 model and the 818 series is apparently for '08's. Here's the link to maps for the '11 models.
Just looked at the map that was loaded prior to my tune & it's for an 09. I guess I'll just wait until after riding season & swap the cams, do the exhaust, install the auto tune & load the map provided by Jamie.
The riding season in the Pacific NW is short enough & I've already missed out on a bunch of riding due to my shoulder so I guess I'll wait & just ride!
Thanks for the help guys.
