Me and most of my fish head buddies use the hot toppers. They hold up and look good. As has been said, it might be best to take them off yourself before sending it to the mechanic.
I have used the allen head caps too but they have a tendency to fall off.

I use the Hot Toppers too, Yea, sometimes they will crack and fall off, especially the black ones but, they are cheaper than chrome bolts, they look good, you can get them from E-Bay cheap.
