Default Help with STUCK outer fairing screw

I just got the black LED headlamp and started the install...
One of the three top screws across the windshield is STUCK in place. I have removed all the other 6 of 7 screws and placed one of the other top three in loosely in case I am able to finally remove the fairing.
I have applied heat, but still no luck. I can't get anything in the top crack created when removing the windscreen to hold the insert still.

Any ideas?

I am trying to avoid tapping the entire screw out. Any ideas or help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. I searched for help, but could not find any.

Thanks!

So if the insert is spinning in the inner fairing it needs to be repaired anyways. Take a pair of vice grips grab the end of screw and pull, the insert should just pull out. Go to your local hd dealer and get some of the repair inserts. They have threads on them and you simply wind them in with one of the screws you took out. This is the best way to fix, and what should come from the factory, as this is a very common problem.

What rideon says is the best way, I have replaced all three of the inserts with the repair inserts and I also put in allen head screws in Chrome I like the allen's much better.

only 1.19 or something like that... when i saw how it was from the factory i went and picked some up just on principle.. long as i have them on hand i wouldn't need them..lol so i've three in the tool bag. probably have them long after the bike is gone... now if i figured i didn't need them as i'd most probably wouldn't be able to find a dealer who carried them if i did...

I once bought a Pick Axe for the same reason. The man at the Farm Supply said he would loan me one and I told him If I bought It, I would only need it ONE TIME.
I have been right so far.

That is the Best way, but before you run to the dealer. Try and put a needle nose locking vise grip wrench on the end of the screw head and try and unturn it at an angle that would maybe put enough side pressure on the insert to hold it in place.

Sounds like you don't have anything to bite on with pliers or otherwise.

Trying to force some between the fairing and windscreen will more than likely crack the fairing or scratch/gouge the windscreen.

Just based on reasonable expectations if the anchor is spinning you "should" be able to gently wiggle it out if the others are out. But that's just a guess. Give it shot.

Good luck.
