I am looking to change out my beach bars on my 03 RKC and ibthink I'm going apes. I still am not sure of the size though. I was leaning towards 14s. I sat on a heritage last night in the parking lot of chilis the owner said he thought they were 18 s and they did not seem to high. But I have been looking over a lot of posts here and 16s look tall to me on the RK. I am 6' 190lbs with long arms.
I bought a complete kit from HCC 14" for 11 Streetglide. Very pleased with the set up only took 10 hours for me and a buddy. We took our time and the installation went very well. I cannot add pictures to share.
I helped a friend put a set on his Streetglide. It made it very easy. He bought the controls with the prewired bars. The bars and controls look great. He has the black and chrome thing going on. Went with black bars, chrome controls and black grips.
I am 5'11", 31" inseam. I just did HCC 16's on my 09 RKC this weekend. Even with them rocked pretty far forward, my hands are still below my shoulders. I almost bought 14's and am really glad I moved up to 16.
The TBW sensors they use were back-ordered, so instead of waiting nearly a month for a pre-wired kit, I just bought the bars, wire extensions and cables. Saved almost $500, and I'm stoked with the outcome.
The internal wiring was a pain on the throttle side, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The whole job, start to finish, took me about 8-10 hours, and I took a lot of extra care.
Do you happen to have any pics that you could post or send? I would love to see a pic of you on the bike so I could see in relation to the bars if possible.
