Default Screaming eagle plug wire size and clips?

I am wondering if any of you that have swapped the stock plug wires for the Screaming Eagle plug wires know if the Screaming Eagle wires are too big for the clips that currently hold the stock wires? Someone told me that you can't use the stock clips and you will need to use zip ties instead?. Seems like the MOCO would state that someplace if that were true but thought I would give a shout out to all of you to see thoughts and or experience on your end. My bike is a 2010 StreetGlide and for what ever reason I really want the Red Screaming Eagle Plug Wires on my bike. Think they just look cool. Just hope that are as good as stock as they seem to cost VERY little which actually does concern me a bit.

Thanks for any feedback or thoughts.

I tried putting them on my 07 without removing the tank and it was a royal Fn pain in the ***. I ended up taking them back and putting the stock ones back on. In answer to your question, they do not fit in the stock clips, and they have a straight boot on the plug instead of the 45* stock ones and they were smashed against the bottom of the tank. They have a tank lift kit if you want to do that.

Put the SE wires and plugs on my 2010 RK at the 5K mile service. I removed my seat and unbolted the back of the gas tank. Raised it and used a socket to hold it up while I installed the wires. Not a problem. They will fit in the stock clamps.

And your plug boots didnt hit the bottom of the tank? I really wonder how you got them in the oem clip theres at least 3/16" difference in diameter, I even broke one trying to fit it in. Did you also route them the same way as the stock ones, with the tight loop between the coil and clip so they dont rub?

I put a set of the orange SE Plug Wires on my '08 Street Glide and the wires fit in the stock clips. It's a tight fit in the clips, but they fit. I took the tank off, that made it super easy to replace the wires. They do have straight boots and you can only see about an inch or so of the orange wire, but I like them.

I went out and took a picture. I don't know if you can tell because the picture is kinda dark, but the wire boots are not anywhere near the tank. Might be the SG tank is closer? Don't know! I would like to add also, I didn't run my front wire up under the tank. I remember trying but it was so close even with the tank raised, I ran it along the edge and ty-raped it. You have to bend down to see it. Plus a lot less heat on it there. I used the back clips next to the coil. They are tight, but will fit.

If you have fingers like a silverback mountain gorrila, it's hard to do. Have your wife or kid stick them in the clips for ya.

I just now thought of something, you all are talking about an 08 and up with a different frame and larger, redesigned tank. I still have the old stuff. You guys are talking apples and Im talking oranges, sorry for my confusion.

Thanks for all of your feedback. I didn't realize they didn't have any bend to them. Kinda odd that HD did that since the stock ones do. Thanks for the photo Ronp42. Kinda on the bubble now if it's worth sticking them on since it doesn't look like you will see too much of them?. I think without the bend you loose a bit of the cable since it goes straight up?.

Thanks again!!!
