I know this has been beaten to death but I need some different opinions about this. I have an 09 FLHRC and just rolled over 10K miles. I have about 3/32 tread left on the rear and I know it's time to replace it but the front tire has been casuing me some trouble. I took my bike in about 3K miles ago because of a wobble at 65mph. The dealer looked at it and said they saw nothing wrong. The front tire now has cupping and is worn from 1/32 to 3/32. What could make the tire wear out so fast? I bought the wheel and tire warranty but the tire was worn too low for them to do anything. The rear tire has a crack but it doesn't leak so they won't replace that one either. So, I need to replace them and the stealership wans about $600+ for a new set. What are you guys running for a replacement tire that is good. I have a guy that can mount them so that is not an issue. I beleive that the tire size changed in 09 on the FLHRC. Any knowledgable input is appreciated. Thanks.
There is a service bulletin that covers your tire, they should measure whats left on the tread and that determines what you pay. Lots on here have gotten a free tire no questions asked. Mine was worn out and I got a new tire for half off...
Back tire should be replaced no questions asked especially since you have a tire warranty. I think I would have to ask the manager to get involved... I would not be happy with the response you received when you have a warranty!
I have the service bulletin, pm me with an email and I will email it to you.
