Backing plate mod

CANT FIND THE THREAD? THIS GUY CUT UP HIS BACKING PLATE ON HIS TOURING BIKE AND FIT A K&N FILTER.LT LOOKED AND WORKED GREAT,ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THREAD?????

I don't have a touring or did i use a KN filter(it was basic filter from autozone that i cut up)and actually i didn't pay for it i found it in a car where i work..
