stock headers to true duels

bought a set of stock headers from a buddy going to chop them up an turn them into duels just wondering if anybody has done this an can give some advice on what to do

The older bikes with the crossover, the turn is awful sharp at the rear head, I have heard of people doing it but it sounds like a lot of work. Fulsac has a kit to do just what you are doing.

Did the homemade dual thing to mine 3 years ago. Took out the entire crossover piece. Chop saw on the rear head pipe and welded a freeze plug from the auto parts store. Replace a 14 inch section from the front cylinder and where the bottom crossover met. Flip the heat shields there you have it. True duals for $8.47 I have heard of some people just cutting out a few inches out of the crossover piece, weld in freeze plugs and putting the heat shield back over the cuts. I like the way I did it. It opened up the area behind the rear jug.
