I'm picking up my '11 Street Glide 103 tomorrow. I had the dealer install the 255 cam, 4" Screaming Eagle slip ons, SE stage 1 air filter and the ECM download. Now I just want to start riding and enjoying it. I've read a number of posts about changing the "head pipe" to eliminate the cat and let it breath even better but I'm not sure exactly what options I have s a replacement. I just looked in the HD catalog and the head pipes that are listed have a cat. I want to use the SE slip ons so I'd appreciate learning what I should buy. Thanks
A good non cat headpipe that uses your chrome heatshields so you maintain a factory look would be Fuel Moto's headpipe. They're one of the forum sponsors. Here's the link: http://www.jackpotmufflers.com/
Good luck!
Thank you. Any other options out there? Seems like it would have been cheaper to have purchased the entire exhaust system versus the way I did it. I bought the full SuperTrapp for my Fat Bob and it was much less than the slip on and then adding the head pipe. Live and learn I guess.
Gut the cat from the head pipe, many on the forum here have done it with success.
With Jackpots' Headers you get a lot more than just a gutted headpipe. The ceramic coating will significantly reduce the heat radiating onto you and the engine. A huge plus in my book!!

I sure do wish someone would do a write up with pix on this mod. I have nothing against the looks of the stock header pipes and it would be a shame to waste them away on a shelf.

How hard is the cat material inside the pipe? Seems you could put a cable attachment on the end of a drill, and grind it out from the short end of the pipe. Would this be possible?
