We took the Autotrain down to Fla. in April and loved it. It saved a day and kept us from having to ride in a lot of rain on the trip down. I booked a roomette and it was worth it to me to be able to lay down and sleep. Got off the train refresh and rode the entire day down to Key West. The rates are definitely variable. 2 adults the bike and a roomette on the trip down was about $400 but the same trip back was over $800 so we rode all the way back home.
One tip I would offer is that storage is limited on the train so secure as much as possible on the bike if you can and only what you need on the train.
When you take your bike on the AutoTrain, you load it onto an aluminum sled that has two tracks in it where your wheels go. They are not very deep.
I think the ground clearance might be an issue getting up the ramp onto the platform, but from what I remember taking my Road King on the train, I dont think 3/4 of an inch is going to make that much difference.

I wonder how much they charged to take the John Deere Tractor in the back ground on the train. I am pretty sure I want to take mine to Florida and do some side work cutting grass. LOL!
