Recently purchased a 07 FLHRC. I was adding some stuff to the front and had a few questions:
1) What kind of bolts holds the front caliper to the forks (looks like a male Torx)? Don't have that in my toolbox and looks like I may need to remove caliper.
2) Looking at the rotors, I would almost believe that they are reversed. They are labeled "Left" and "Right." If you were sitting on the bike they would be reversed. Looking at it from the front they are correct.
Does it matter? They do make some noise after they heat up and I come to a stoplight.
3) Front brake pads look like they are wearing fast. Bike only has a few thousand miles on it and looks like a few more and they will need replaced. What is a good aftermaket pad available?
1) 12-point, 10mm (if my memory is working)
2) Service Bulletin "fix" for late-model squealing rotors is to swap discs
3) Lyndall Racing Brakes link Z-plus pads - no dust, no noise & won't chew up custom rotors.
