I have talked to him several times and he has been a great guy everytime. I just don't want to keep bothering him. I just figured someone here could answer the question. I really don't think I can swing the price right now but I was wondering what they cost to see. If I can swing it then I call him to place to order.
Just went to the website and checked out the prices, a bit more than the 940's I'm thinking about, but since they're less than 10 miles away, maybe I can work out a test ride or something. Before paying twice as much, I just want to be sure they are at least twice as good.
that's list price Howard gives forum discounts , #2's are like mid $500 & #3' are mid $700

clock wise makes them more resistant to change , counter clock wise softens them up
Thanks, I was getting a little lost in the adjustments. It rides way better than stock- just trying to fine tune it better. How do I know if I need less dampening? What happens if I go too far? Bottoming out on bumps or pitching the back up in the air on bumps? I have my pre load set at 1/3 of travel.
once your preload is set ride it , if it feels unstable , loose , bouncy , bottoming then go clock wise , if it feels hard or bumpy go counter clock wise , don't go more than 1 or 2 clicks at a time and keep adjusting it , it helps if you can adjust and then ride the same road everytime so you get a good idea of what you are feeling

That price is more reasonable, what about the #6, or for the average rider would the extra cost be really worth it? I ride often, but I don't usually ride really hard, but comfort and handling are important.
I don't know about #6 price , I got prices on the #2 & #3 when I was looking , if you want a 12" shock the #2-#2a is the best buy out there , it has like 83mm of travel and is around $540
