Default Waterproof Harley????

Is it possible??? I have an 08 SG with a PCV and it seems every time I wash it the bike goes into limp mode. & everytime I find my connector that's under my right side cover is full of water, even after the last time this happened I put a baggie around it and wrapped the ends in electrical tape.... Any help would be appreciated cuz I'm about ready to throw the pos in the trash! And I wash it by hand with the hose, no pressure washes if I can help it....

You might be able to spice together a couple of pieces of heatshrink wire covering over that and it would solve your problem

thats strange that water would be getting into the connector. i have PCVs on a few of my bikes but my race quad gets the most abuse. mud, water, sand, everything, and ive never had an issue with the PCV. i wonder if the rubber seal in the connector is bad?

I've had luck using a bicycle inner tube in similar situations. Cut to length and tie ends with a zip tie.

Power washing is not very good idea water gets into lots of tight fittings wheel bearings, goose neck bearing may be you want to power wash under the bike and hose off the rest of it .

I just take it easy with the hose in sensitive areas, and not had any problems.

I say fill it with dielectric grease and put shrink tubing over it.

+1 on no power washer. Too many places that water can get into under pressure. For me its a hose on a shower setting and some soft towels.

I had the same problem once when I washed mine without the seat on it. Pack the wire end of the connectors with dielectric grease. You may also want to do that on the connectors also. This will keep water out. Has worked for two years on my 09.

The water runs in thru the plastic sheathing. I had the same problem on my trip to the east coast with 2 days of heavy rain. Packed the whole thing in silicon grease and solved the problem.
