Another amp ?

I installed the Vibe 2 channel amp in my bike last week.
I was out in the garage messing around with it the other day,
and noticed that with the sound muted on the head unit, the speakers
still make buzzing sound.
Is this normal? I've never had an amp before, so I have nothing to judge
the sound with. Or do I have something set up wrong.

if the amp has a gain adjustment you may have the gain turned up too high

Thanks, should I try to set the gains with the head unit muted, or follow the
setup directions, and set it at 3/4 volume? Which is how I set it up to start with.

Is the amp properly grounded? If you set the gains at 3/4 volume make sure all your bass and treb settings are at 0

Yes it's grounded to the tree, where two other grounds are...only about a foot of ground wire.
I'll set the bass and treble to 0 and reset the gains.
