VSS has not been replaced. Back in April they thought they had it licked with a ground issue, but that turned out to be wishful thinking. Back out in Colorado this summer and the noise gremlin is still there. I have apes and they are internally wired. We are considering rewiring them. Perhaps a breach there. Another possibility ????? Is I used to have a Xm Roadie mounted in the left box of the shark nose and had it hard wired as opposed to cigarette lighter connection.. I did not install this but it was removed several years ago and I wonder if they spliced into a hot wire and perhaps a breach has been left where that wire was removed. The wired part of this is unlike a distributer whine which could probably be corrected with some noise suppresors, this problem gets worse the longer I am on the bike. When the bike is totally cold there is no problem, but then the problem starts to appear, first ever so slightly, and then just gets worse and worse. CVO Forum did not provide an answer. It's probably something simple to correct, just impossible to find. Unfortunate for them I have saddled Aspen Valley HD with this issue. They have been terrific. Great people. They really want to fix it, but so far no success. Going to keep trying though. I have combed every Internet source that I can find, and although some bikes have had a similar problem, no one has quite nailed the fix.
Harley,
Has the techs tried just turning on the radio and letting it play with the engine not running to see if this happens? Also My 2000 UC had a problem in the connector under the seat. It had a lot of corrosion in the connector that connects the intercom and CB to the console power switch and it also had the connections for the antennas. Not sure if yours is the same on the Road glide....
I am having the same problems. I did add an extr a cigarette lighter and wondering if t hat is the problem. May unhook it tomorrow to see. Please keep is posted on ur progress.

No it appears that we should be using 2 Ohm not 8. That is what Ihad that was causing the problems. Eventually in will burn up your stock amp
my bike stereo book says its a 8 ohm per speaker i have a question maybe you can answer i have a 8 ohm system if you have 8 ohm speakers it should ohm out at 7.25 anything less they are no good. i have hog tune speakers model 914.2 they are sutiable for 4-8 ohms nominal at 5.75 they ohm out at 5.6 how can they work for a 8 ohm system when they ohm out at 5.6 and any thing i read says if its lower that 7.2 you need new speakers
