Sounds like it went well. I'm planning to do one this summer, any tips?
Completed mine last summer. When the sleep deprivation sets in (and it will), get a large cup of coffee 2/3 full and a Three musketeers candy bar. Melt the candy bar in the coffee and drink. Tastes awesome and is far better at keepin you awake than an energy drink. We were stupid and thought it would be cool to see just how quick we could do it. A little over 17 hrs and the last 2 were absolutely miserable. You can do it easily in 24 hrs so take a rest when you start falling asleep and missing entire towns. Be safe.

Yes, above all be safe.
With regards to speed, if you are going to submit paperwork to the IBA for certification, be aware that they also consider safety to be important. They will not acknowledge rides if they feel they were completed too quickly.
What did you find to be the most difficult of your Ironbutt ride?

Hands down, it was the feeling of being tired in the dark riding hours. I'm not good at adjusting my sleep schedule for one day. I normally get up every day at 0530.
On Sunday, I went to bed at 1600, thinking I'd get a little sleep. I laid there until 2100, got up and got ready for the ride.
So, until sunrise I just didn't use the cruise, because my body felt as though I should be sleeping. Energy drinks helped.
Once the sun came up it was all good.
What I thought would be a problem, wasn't. I was expecting my stock seat to be an issue, but it never really bothered me.

It wasnt that we rode that fast, i think i averaged around 60mph, we were on the interstate 99% of the time. We left at the wrong time with too little sleep and didnt take any rest stops just gas and go.
