I bought an Elf E2125x from Ebay and it didnt come with the plug for the speaker inputs. So my question is , can I just solder Rca plugs onto my existing speaker wires and use that for the inputs? I think it makes sense but maybe the Rca inputs are for a preamp ? Thanks for the help
Ok thanks wolfman, I guess I go try Radio shack to see if they have the plug to match, If anyone has other ideas please let me know. I would love to get this thing going
Looked through all the packaging again and cant find the plug. Ok I will make a plug.I'm not afraid to solder things so, I've got some pins for electronics and will make my own. But there is a ground and +, - for left and right. Do I need to run another ground from the fifth pin to triple tree or not use that or combine it with the speaker grounds
First, why not call ELF and ask them. My new Rockford Fosgate amp supplies RCA connectors, but says to cut them off to use speaker level inputs--so the amp can handle both low level and high level inputs at the same amp input connections--perhaps the ELF is the same.
Another alternative is to buy a line output converter from Crutchfield or other vendor. These have speaker wire connectors on one end and provision for RCA connectors at the other; the LOC converts the high level speaker input into a low level input for the RCA's.
Sg Mike I think I will try that, it says it is adjustable what did you set it to? and 1 more question. This might be a dumb one but I'm not an audio guy. Do I just use the +,- left to left speaker and +,- right to right side ? I don't understand the whole bridged thing. I am using the stock head unit and hertz 6.5 speakers.
Ok, the input plug left +,- and right +,- and a ground. Does anyone know if there are 4 or 5 wires coming out of the plug? I'm trying to figure out if I need to use the ground from the input plug. If not I will wait until support opens in about 2 hours. thanks
