Default Compression riding shorts

I have heard a lot about what a difference that compression shorts make on long rides. Can anyone tell me good brands and types of shorts. I googled it and there are tons and want to know whats best for riding.

I've worn mountain bike shorts under my leathers sometimes. They have built in tail bone and hip padding. A lot of off road riders and track riders wear these as they can prevent bruising when you crash but IMO they do not offer any more comfort. If it is only comfort I would suggest what previous posters already have and try something like under armor.

I hear any brand that fits works. I have a pair of MSR compression shorts, they have a synthetic chamois padding that keeps the junk dry and comfy. I recently wore them on my Hatfield & Mccoy dirtbike trip, worked like a charm.
