The solution to this age old drama is to enjoy riding a classic. Just quit trying to be on the cutting edge..........
...RIGHT-ON, brother!...gettin kinda sick of all the angst you see on these boards over some small change year after year...I'd take a 65 Pan over ANY bike Harley has made since 1982.....don't get me wrong...I really like my 05 E Glide...but it's just a nice bike...nothing special...all these newer bikes are ok..but they just don't have the soul of a classic, kick startin, oil leakin, backfiring, chevy 350 point eatin, pre evo bike.....
Haven't felt this happy in a while ever since the newly designed '09 Ultra with 96" and 6 speed came into my Life in September '08. The color was attractive as the bike got all of the Bells and Whistles.
Never had the feel or the need to buy a new bike at this moment. However, I'm eyeing on the RGU or RGU Limited to see if they'll be making better improvements in a few years.

I bought my 2011 RGU in late Aug and heck I am just glad they did not come out with something really razoo for 2012 and upgraded like the frame change in 09. Imagine buying a dude 08 LOL. Like was said above you can chase upgrades forever and just chase your tail. I bought an 04 in 04 and was glad I did not wait until 05 after the crank and valve seal problems lol.
You can see some of the new 2012's on the HD website. 103 standard on the touring bikes along with a $500 price increase across the board.
but is it really an increase? if you wanted the 103 before, you had to buy the powerpak which was an additional $2,000. now, for $1500 less than what you had to pay with the powerpak you get the 103 (and an oil cooler, and acr's)
really, for what you get, the price effectively has gone down....
