I'm also wondering how you set the security system if you don't know how to get it off?

Anyway, you might check your trouble codes to make sure that's your problem:

Are you saying that you just don't have the fob with you or that your system is without a fob?

Don't know that this will work without the fob being close by:
1) Set your kill switch to off
2) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on
3) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go)
4) Press and let go the right signal once
5) Current PIN will be displayed on odometer

FWIW, the default on my '10 King was 31313

I don't think there is anything you can do to get the bike started if you don't have the FOB or the PIN. Think about it...if there was a way to "trick" the security system into coughing up the PIN, then a thief could do this. It should be paramount with every dealership to stress the importance of setting a PIN when you purchase a new bike....or for that matter, a used bike from them. Otherwise, you're screwed if you lose your FOB when you're out on the road. Additionally, I've heard of folks having the battery in their FOB die...that's just like having no FOB. Hmmmm.....might be a good idea to put a spare battery for the FOB in the toolkit.

Well he can't be no further away from where he started that the fuel in the tank will take him. Most likely he's not that far. I'm thinking he should call back and have someone bring him the fob.
Oh sorry, guess I should be directing this to the OP. Call back and have someone bring you the fob.

Either he got it fixed or the cops showed up.

Do newer bikes automatically go into "armed" mode whenever they're shut off? I have to manually arm my 06.
