09 SG rear brake light switch

Installed the bright azz taillight today. Noticed it would not work with the rear brake pressed? Checked and found the rear brake switch not working! Don't know how long it has been out due to using front and rear most of the times. Is this like all the other little pain in the azz problems I have had "common"? O yeh it is bright azz!!

You are the second guy on here in 2 days with a faulty rear brake switch.I guess the dealer should start keeping a good supply of them on hand.

Third, just replaced mine and bled the whole brake system. 1/2 hour and done.

I recently replaced mine also. Mine was staying on, cruise control wouldn't work and ABS light stayed on. Replacing switch cleared everything up.

Replaced mine too, cruise would not disengage when rear break only was applied is how I found out.

This had been going on for a while, I always turn off the cruise tapping the front break, and never thought to have it checked.
Funny, this happened right after a yearly vehicle inspection and my 25k service was done.
Yeah they check all that crap, right.

I have a 09 EGC and had to replace my rear brake switch as well. Mine caught on fire. Must have been a short in the wiring. Not funny then but now I look back at it and it's still not funny.
