Thx MrHog, I didn’t think of that. I am sure it would stay without the bold under the seat. To be honest I didn’t pay more than $25 for the aftermarket backrest, I just could see purchasing Corbin; it was too expensive. I am not really worried about theft. When I take off accessories I store them inside. I just was curious if anyone had a similar issue.

I have the Corbin Classic Solo. As you know the is no ajustment to the back rest other than height and the back rest tilt.

My problem was I could feel the backrest behind me but I wasn't putting any pressure against it in my normal riding position.

I marked the bar at the top of the seat and removed the bar from the backrest (not to hard) and took it to a fab shop with a hydralic brake and had them bend the bar in a press. It took two trys to get it perfect but I have a perfect riding position.

It also gave the wife a little more room.

You may also want to move your tour pac back some.

I had a classic solo on a Heratage Softail. When I would use the backrest WithOut the hold down screw, and placed the OEM pillion on the bike, the back rest would be pushed up and almost out of its square hole.

I almost lost it one time. That was a Softail, I'm just saying check this if you go without the screw.

I have the same seat on my Street Glide, and it's the most comfortable seat I've ever had.......and if you paid $500 for it you paid too much.

MrHog, that was the perfect fix. I do not have a tour pack on the bike, just a standard passenger backrest.
