I bought a Corbin solo seat over the winter and an aftermarket rider backrest. When I add the Corbin passenger pillion and the OEM passenger backrest there is very little room for the passenger. It is so tight that it isnt comfortable because my backrest in the way. Has anyone run into this problem? Short of taking off my seat and removing my backrest is there anything I can do? There doesnt seem to be any adjustments I can make to the OEM passenger backrest. I mostly ride solo but when I do take someone for a ride it isnt feasible to take the seat off every time, I live in an apartment. I know I can take off the passenger backrest but for a long ride it is more comfortable. Any suggestions?
Yep, ran into the same problem with the dualtourer Corbin seat. Got rid of the OEM and bought a Corbin one that fit in the slot on the seat. Not sure if you have that option on a pillion. Also had to move the tourpak back. That said I wouldn't trade my Corbin for any other seat. The wife likes it also.
Pumba, my pillion is a Corbin as well. It's the OEM detachable backrest that seems to be the problem. There doesn't seem to be a way to move it back, no adjustments. Even if I could change the angle past 90 degrees it would be okay.
Bee, yeah that really seems to be the only option. It's just a pain in the *** to take the seat off every time I want to ride with someone. I was hoping someone had the same problem and they made an adjustment to something that I am just missing. Thanks for the replies.

Can you run solo with the backrest in the bracket without the bolt? Some backrests will stay without the backrest bolted down. If your backrest isn't bolted down on the bottom side of the seat, you can just pull and remove it when someone else rides passenger.

All I know is the Corbin Classic solo seat I put on my '09 Ultra Classic wasn't worth the cool factor. It's the most uncomfortable seat I've ever had. It will be my last $500 plus $$$ solo seat for me.
