I run 07 Ultra and have the chance to buy a set of 110 barrels and heads for a good price. Thinking of the possibility of a project at a later date. Would you?
would you ? Well to answer your question, no I would not
because onced you get your case bored you are stuck with
it you cant re bore it to the next size up which would be the
113. Also you can have about as much fun with a 103 for a
lot less money
Depends on if I was ever considering on going bigger then 110. If not I would get the parts for the later build and just stick to getting parts that will compliment a 110 build. just my 2 pennies worth.
I have been told by a few guys with some experience, if you are going to go past a 103", just go all the way to the 124" and be done with it. Well not done, cause you can still and a turbo charger or bottle....
To go 110 you gotta bore the cases. So if you are splitting the cases you might as well go 4 1/8 bore or 113".
But if you are splitting the cases you might as well get rid of that flimsy stock crank and tapered rods which are junk. If you are doing that then you might as well timken the bottom end at the same time. If you are changing crank then you might as well go 4 5/8" stroker crank to get 124".
If you are going 124" then you might as well forget SE and go S&S as they give a full warranty but SE is for "racing use only" and no warranty.
Its a slippery slope once those cases are split!!
So unless they were free I wouldnt touch them, but thats me. How much is "a good price"??
