Default HD Footboard install problems.

Im trying to put passenger footboards on my 06 SG and I purchased what I thought was the whole shebang. There are no pivot pins or ball/springs in the boxes. Can I buy the pivot pins, ball and springs seperate? The instructions say to take the pins and ball/springs out of the original boards and use them in the new (dont have old ones). Cant find any part no's. on the HD website.

Also, how do you get the old L/S peg off without taking the pipe off? I have true duals and you cant get the allen wrench in there to get it off. This project is getting more frustrating by the minute!

thanks for any input.

1) The pins, ball and springs are another seperate purchase. (not that much $)

2) You need a 5/16 allen socket. Bought a full set yesterday with I think eight sockets.

*edit* You will need to use a long extension to get to it safely though.

You're about $25 from being done.

You can also get allen "ball" sockets that are made for access at angles, I know Snap On and Mac sell them not sure who else.

Hey Gforce, what did you get for parts? I checked at the dealer and they wanted $600.00+ for the goods. Blew me away, I was thinking 2 bills. CN

Zanottis brother!!

I bought the passenger floorboards AND fairing lowers painted to match for $800. (includes shipping)

www.zanottimotors.com

Fairing Lowers
58854-06BXT $493.99

Swept Wing Pan- Streamliner Insert- Chrome Bracket
50357-04 $119.57
50420-05 $64.63
53070-00 $94.16

You also need the springs and pivot pins. Not sure on the numbers, but its under $30 at the dealer.

Plug in the part number at HD's to see what the parts look like. I saved a buttload of money and will only shop Zanottis for the pricey parts. (which most HD parts are)

You should be able to get the whole setup for less than $300 from a shop that discounts. I use M&M for all my stuff. Good prices on several lines and the best customer service I have ever seen!

Does anyone know the part #'s for the hinge pins and ball/spring for the floorboard install???????

LOL...typical H-D...They sell you floorboards, then say "Oh, you want to MOUNT them? That costs EXTRA". Ya gotta love a business who can get away with that.
