I get as low as 35 and as high 45 depending how I ride , I just got back from riding from Florida to North Carolina , 2 up bike fully loaded , if I stayed under 70 I was around 42 , over 75 around 37
Just checked my mpg this weekend. A 165 mi trip thru the mountains = 46.2 mpg. Most of the riding was in 4th & 5th gear, 50 mph. A couple of weeks ago I did 250 mi on mostly interstate roads, 5th & 6th gear & got 48 mpg. If I ride it harder, it drops to the low 40's mpg.
Overall not bad for a mild 103 build.
Must be the windshield!!
Did you dyno your bike? If so, who did it?
I recently sold my 2011 Limited after putting about 10,000 miles on it. Completely stock the best I ever saw was a hair under 41 mpg on trip to Deals Gap. Over half of the 10,000 miles was with a Fuel Moto stage 1 including the head pipe. After the upgrade my typical highway mileage ran about 38 mpg. I do not run my bike hard so I feel pretty comfortable that was about as good as I was going to get. Fuel economy numbers really seem to be all over the map when it comes to the responses I've read. If you cull out the extreme lows and highs 35 to 40 seems to be a number most representative of the 103. BTW my new CVO RG Ultra has been averaging about 40 mpg over the first 700 miles with a high of 42. This is highway and good secondary roads. If I can continue to tolerate the heat I just may leave this thing completely stock. I do a lot of touring and I like having all the range I can get when I'm in the middle of nowhere.
Just had the Ltd opened up with SE air filter & Monster Ovals, and a set of SE254e cams.
Before it was done I could easily stretch to 200 miles on a tank, now it's down to 180.
(In terms of fuel mpg, it's not directly comparable on here as one of our Union Jack Gallons is 1.2 of your Stars & Striped ones)
On a side note, my new fueller is by KiTech but there's no O2 sensors involved, they're back in my box of bits. This being so, I'm assuming the new kit simply overcompensates the EFi and dumps more fuel in for any given rev/load which is a bit primitive in this day & age. I'm going to tackle the dealer about this.
