Tactial Operations Center - that's one of those Army acronyms... you know, one of those "you had to be there to".

I've done that quite a bit. Expo was the brand name I think. No issues with it coming off; worked well...

This thread took a twist.... I'm a Battalion S3..... I LIVE in the TOC. It seems a bit odd to see "TOC" on HDforums.

You could go with a "knee board" concept and laminate a piece of card stock or an index card with a lamination that you can write on with pencil and erase - use over and over. I did this for my PPC (yet another military acronym) Performance Planning Card for fuel burn calculations, hover power, max torque available, jettisonable load, VNE, VSSE, etc etc. Make it what ever size suits you and tape it in place on your tank dash, back side of wind shield, where ever you want it/can read it. Office Max or Office Depot should be able to hook you up.

Pencil won't run in the rain.

You could use an 'Auto Writer' It is a wet erase marker. They are used in the bodyshop industry to make notation's on car surfaces glass or painted. It will not come off in the rain. Just wash with soap and water or use windex to get it off. Check with any autoparts store they will have them.

I just write on the back of my hand in Sharpie, doesn't come out without some work, good enough for a days worth of exits, and you can't lose it

Many tank bags have a map pocket on top of them. I think I've seen just the magnetic map pockets on a few bikes.
