It's all about wave length. I am not to sure a CB antenna will work with FM and vice versa. They are designed to a certain wave length for certain frequencies.

mines on the right and marked CB on the base of the antenna, and it's not easy to see either. for us older folks that is.

What makes you say the CB antenna goes on the left? My 2010 UC has the CB on the right side/AMFM is on the left. I looked this up somewhere last year - maybe in my service manual, not sure.

Well on my 2011 it's on the right as was my 2008.

the cb antenna will work just fine for the fm/am radio. not the other way around
I bought another cb antenna and just run 2 cb antennas that way i can't reverse them

Same here on my 2010 UC. Looked in the service manual and from the picture it looks like the am/fm is on the left and the CB on the right as you're facing the rear of the bike. Both antenna are stamped am/fm and CB on the antenna base but doesn't indicate left or right that I could find.
