I have a 2010 Ultra with CB. I installed the turn/run/brake light module a while back and thought my antennas were reversed. The CB antenna was on the right, with a small black single wire feeding it. The FM antenna was on the left with the full coax running into the base of it. I swapped them side for side, making my CB on the left(drivers/street side) and FM on the right(passenger/ditch side). Made sense at the time looking at the coax. The left mount should be 50 ohm, but the right won't be with that small open wire pigtail.
Anyone know for sure which is which? I could chase the coax back, but its really cold in my shop now!
The only reason I knew the answer (cuz I wondered previously too) is because I recently did some work to re-route the wire harnesses and antenna cables running to the tour pack.
ok you got me wondering now....will that be the same on my 2003 Ultra classic?
Reason being I loost my right side "whip" anntena on a ride last Sunday.
Should be the same on all bikes. The radio will work fine with the CB antenna but the CB will not work at its best with radio antenna probably only 1/4. Mine came from dealer with antennas on the wrong side. I have now placed a small black wire-tie at the bottom to remined me which is the CB antenna if I should ever take it off. The markings are so small I can not read CB without a powerfull magnifiying glass. Also when you pull them put some Die Electric Grease on the threads.

My CB wasn't working well and I came across these posts. Thanks! It turns out both of my antennas have AM/FM written on the bottom. They swapped one with another bike when the bike was new because I noticed a tip was missing. Maybe they got the wrong side or maybe it was already wrong. Went to the dealer and they swapped it for a CB antenna.
