Default 2010-11 model converter in the head pipe? Anyone know location & how to remove?

I ordered some new pipes for my 11 FLHR, they should be very loud, when I installed them, they were quiet, I emailed the company and they sent me this response

"if your bike is a 2010 or 2011 it has convertors in the head pipe and will be really quite unless you remove them or change out the head pipe"

My question is has anyone removed this converter? Where is it located and will it affect my warranty or throw an engine code? Thanks

There is a thread on here that has photos. You can also google it. My brother just did it on his 2011...actually he bought a used pipe on Ebay and gutted it. Kept his stock pipe put it in the attic just in case (warranty, blah, blah blah). He is very pleased with it and highly recommends it.

Won't throw any codes. It makes the bike sound a bit louder, but it does sound pretty good. Good luck...with even minimal skills you can do it. Or even have a muffler shop do it....welding is involved.
